We stayed here for one night while traveling through the area and really liked it. Our lodge room was very new compared to our last stay here. The new rooms and lodge are beautiful and state of the art. I couldn’t give it 5 stars because our room had a few housekeeping items. The restaurant was fantastic, the food and service were very good. We would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely loved this lodge. Beautiful building inside, and the lake views are gorgeous to wake up next to and watch sunset at night. The restaurant is not 5 star Nashville foodie level but who would logically expect that in a super rural area in TN? It's still good food and I was impressed. They need to improve the breakfast a little.
They also need to keep the fireplace on during fall/winter months because it's part of the appeal.

The only reason that they get two stars is because the building is beautiful and the staff is nice. However, the rooms are small and the beds are the worst beds we've ever slept on. As in, my entire family hardly slept. And it's not just the lodge. That's the cabins at the state park as well. My son is having his wedding here so they rented a number of cabins and we chose to stay in The Lodge expecting it to be high quality given that it's only 3 years old and the rates are high. Plus the other reviews made us think that this would be a nice hotel. And the lobby is beautiful to be fair. We drove in from a few states away and when I brought it up to the staff, understanding there may not be another room available, they were unsympathetic to our disappointment, and were only going to offer us 10% off of a future stay. Best Western would have had better beds and would have compensated us better for a poor stay.

A couple friends and I had a great stay here! The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We had an end room with a wrap around deck overlooking the lake and we booked at the cheapest level. Lots of great seating areas around the lodge including 2 great outdoor fire pits and neat library/game room. We didn’t eat at the restaurant but enjoyed the basic complimentary continental breakfast. Not a lot of gas options so fill up ahead of time! 😉

Very nice hotel on the lake. Excellent spacious rooms, with balcony. Love the gift shop just wish they sold fruit juices. Most of the staff I encountered at the front desk were amazing. Especially the the evening/night shift staff. Very quiet too, in most hotels I've stayed in you can hear people walking around and doors shutting, couldn't hear anything in the rooms, which was great. The bed however was an OLD spring bed that creaked every time you moved, which was highly annoying. Additionally they will NOT give you a refund for your remaining stay if you have to leave for an emergency! Such a horrible policy!

I booked a room here Feb 4 for Sept. the week I was supposed to check in I was not going to make it the first day so I called and told them I would be there the next day and they could charge me for the night I wasn’t going to stay. They took my reservation number and said that is good we have made a note and will see you Friday. I drive up and there on Friday to check in and there is no note in the computer and the manager basically says well you must have called the 1-888 in number and not talked to us so we have no rooms. Very frustrating. While I am standing there another couple goes to check into their room and it was never cleaned! Definitely some issues!

We booked a night at the lodge for our anniversary. Beautiful rooms. Beautiful view an amazingly friendly staff. My only concern is that we had to wait over an hour for dinner. When we checked in the front Desk clerk said they were at capacity. Or near it. I would imagine the restaurant manager has access to this information and should have staffed accordingly . There were many unhappy people. But once we were served, the food was amazing. And our waitress was the best server that we have ever had. Her name was Tanya.
And we have never had better service! And her tip showed what a wonderful person and server she is. I also have to add that mary at the bar was extremely busy but took the time to talk to everybody and was super friendly and made amazing drinks. These two ladies, were the highlight of our stay.Tanya and Mary!

We stayed Father’s Day weekend. The lodge is nice and seems to be kept up for the most part. We were disappointed we didn’t even have a microwave in the room. And the fridge wasn’t the best for holding more than a hand full of drinks. I thought it was odd our room ceiling was just plywood that was painted over. And our balcony definitely hadn’t been cleaned in sometime. As it was covered in spiderwebs and bugs. And the lodge restaurant is the only place to eat unless you want to travel 40 mins to the next town. For the price I definitely think it could’ve been better. I wouldn’t recommend for longer stays more than 2 days.
